ERNIE WEBB BAY BLOCK PARTY

SUMMER 09

The families of Ernie Webb Bay in Stonewall Manitoba extended their sincere thanks to Warkentin Custom Homes for its incredibly kindhearted sponsorship that helped make their 2009 Block Party a huge success!

As one of the major home builders on Ernie Webb Bay (EWB), Warkentin Custom Homes generously provided a significant contribution to help cover the costs of food and numerous kids’ activities at the September 19th block party. This donation made it possible for the block party organizing committee to put on an event at absolutely no cost to families.

“Although we are all relatively new neighbors, the families on Ernie Webb Bay have grown incredibly close over the past year. We are all passionate about making our community a great place to raise our kids, which is why our annual block party is so important,” said Tish Best, member of the 2009 EWB Block Party Organizing Committee.

“The fact that Warkentin Custom Homes so enthusiastically and so quickly came on board as a major sponsor demonstrates the depth of their commitment to the communities they build their homes in. It’s clear that their business isn’t just about building homes, but it’s about building strong, happy communities as well.”

Thanks in part to Warkentin’s contribution, EWB children and youth enjoyed rides on the Lion’s Club train, had free face-painting and nail art, took part in water balloon fights, played in a large bounceroo and an inflatable obstacle course, faced off in a friendly street hockey game, and watched movies in a semi-outdoor movie theatre!

In addition, more than 45 kids took part in the 1st Annual EWB Kids’ parade, where children of all ages decorated their bicycles, wagons and strollers. Stonewall Mayor Ross Thompson and the late Ernie Webb’s wife Donna and his son Allan were on hand as the parade judges to select the first, second and third place winners.

“On behalf of all of the families on EWB, a very special thank you goes out to everyone at Warkentin Custom Homes for their commitment to our community and their very generous donation,” added Best.
